Potpourri of Issues

Hello again my fellow bloggers and readers as well.
I have been off my blogs recently but that does not mean I have stopped. Today, I would like to share with you a few of the current issues that has attracted my attention.

Last week, I read on the Vancouver Sun this article about attracting foreign workers. Same tune, same dancers, nothing changed. Though the govt. is aware of the systemic discrimination that is happening in the workplace, it, ( govt. ) being like a jelly fish, that is without a back bone, cannot enforce the law against that kind of practice. The end result is still the same, this country will continue to dupe professionals who will end up driving a taxicab or washing dishes in restaurants.

On the following day Editorial, I read this person's comment urging the govt. to be truthful to intending immigrant. That is, the embassies should start educating prospective professionals and immigrant about the harsh reality of life here in Canada.

The reality is, do we really believe and think that the govt. will act? Immigration is a big business for this country and I don't think Canada is ready to lose the millions of dollars it collects from immigrants by telling them exactly what to expect when they get into this country.

On other Issues, let us look at the current Teacher's strike here in B.C.

The stupidity of it all...especially on the side of the Govt. Once again, it proved to the people that it doesn't have the backbone to enforce the law of the land.
These teachers, though they are unionized cannot be allowed to go on strike, because first and foremost, they are "Public servants" they are part of the govt. that they are striking against.
Secondly, the Law is the law. Nobody cannot and should not be allowed to circumvent and define the law according to what suits them.

The judge had ruled twice that these actions are illegal and yet the Govt. still has not enforced it's will.
In the end this issue might come to a stale mate with the citizens becoming the victim of all of this.
The govt. cannot yield to the teacher's demand as it will serve as a good example for other govt. unionized employees to perhaps continue to blackmail the govt. by going on strike.

I say that the best solution is to fire all these teachers just as what Ronald Reagan did to those Air traffic Controllers. That way, these people will learn the hard way, that you cannot fight the govt. and expect to win.

The extra expenses that this strike had placed on parents run by the millions everyday.
Parents should also sue the BC Fed. of Teachers for compenrsation, but most of all, the children are suffering.

Mr. Campbell...when are you going to have the balls, to stand up and announce that you are firing all these stubborn teachers? I hope it will be very very soon. Remember, this will haunt you back on the next election.

In the end...I always say this...stupidity, dumbness, ignorance...you name it, you'll find it only in CANADA.
